Moon-and-star staff

I'm still practicing my modeling and texturing. This staff was created in blender and textured by me in photoshop. I made it to be held by the High Priestess of House Azura. The moon-and-star insignia was a simple choice to include in the design.

Pavilion Model Showcase

So I posted a picture of a model (based on official MW concept art) I made from scratch on the forums the other day.

Now I have actually put it into my mod and wanted to showcase how it turned out, here. So prepare for a flood of shots. And I'll let you judge if it turned out well or not.

You'll be able to see that it works well with texture replacers, as I made it to blend in with the Velothi tileset.

Random Updates

Just some random updates on my Azurian Isles WIP.

I have finally bothered to take an overview shot of my mod which shows where the landmass sits in relation to Vvardenfell!

Scale comparison
Secondly, I have updated the steampark fan models per suggestion to be slightly twisted. Here's what the new model looks like.

Lyithdonea Steampark

I've always been interested in reading about the things the developers had planned for Morrowind but that never made it into the game. This post involves one snippet in particular. In Skeleton Man's Interview with Denizens of Tamriel, one individual says: "Imperial Citizens love to visit beautiful Vivec with its steam-parks, canals, and monuments..."
These "steam-parks" were never found in the game and the idea intrigued me. So, having the freedom as a modder, I decided to create my own take on what a steam-park would look like in Morrowind.

What you'll see in the videos is an old fortress which has been refurbished into a steam-park for natives and foreigners alike to visit. Yes, this is part of my Lyithdonea mod.

These two videos illustrate what I came up with. Enjoy!

Lots of trees and rocks

I've decided to heavily focus on finishing all of my exteriors, so that means placing a lot of trees and rocks; right now with minimal detailing. I plan to go back and detail everything later after I get the basis laid out. However, with mge active it still comes out looking fairly decent.

I figured I'd take a few screens of what I was doing, just for the heck of it. Some of these have grass active and some do not. I want to make sure my mod still looks good without the grass.

I also decided that my fog looks very blue. I think I need to edit my ini settings again... but here are the screens.

Ouakhen Exterior Detailing Pt.2

I've essentially finished detailing the small fishing village of Ouakhen, it's just a matter of refraining from going back and adding more stuff. I have to limit myself otherwise this'll never get done!

I figured I would post some screenshots to show what I did. So, here they are.

Tang Mo Video

There was some interest in seeing a video of the Tang Mo in game. So I took this simple one with Fraps. There's no sound, but it gets the point across I believe. Enjoy!

After the fact, and listening to some moody music. This video makes me rather sad :(
But it does show most of the animations well.

Tang Mo in Lyithdonea

While wandering the southern islands of Lyithdonea the other day, I walked into the little village of Delaruhn, as I often do on sunny days such as this. But something was strange, no one was about. All the doors were shut tight. Bemused, I made my way into the village square and saw what I thought at first to be two trolls meandering about in the plaza. I started when the elder 'troll' turned to face me. However, I immediately realized that he was no troll. To be sure, this was something entirely different. The likes of which I have never seen before in the Azurian Isles. I documented my experience with the knowledge that other scholars may bear interest in my discovery.

Dwemer Sonicorder

A chat room conversation turned into a little side project. missiri and I casually have a small mod in the works which will include a new dwarven artifact capable of recording sounds. Specifically, you will be able to record many in game books and then play them back anytime you feel like it.

This all started when we both agreed it would be great if Uncle Crassius had a recording of the Lusty Argonian Maid in his drawer. So, I agreed to model the Dwemer device and missiri is doing the recording (he has a few books done already).

Here's what I came up with. I've called it the Dwemer Sonicorder.

Ouakhen Exterior Detailing

So, I set out to make some interiors today, but ended up detailing the exterior of a small fishing village named Ouakhen outside of Azura City (the capitol of the Azurian Isles, i.e. Lyithdonea). I think it turned out decently so I thought I'd share.

Post, the First

I decided to start this blog because my last attempt at maintaining my own website strayed off and blogging seems simpler. I plan on using this blog to show work in progress screenshots of my mod and to discuss my modding in general.

Don't expect regular updates. Though I do hope to provide updates here fairly often, since I went to the trouble of setting this thing up! If you're interested, subscribe. That way you'll see when I post something new.

I also figured I might as well test out posting images through posts as well. In case you hadn't seen these images before, this is a model made by Chainy (from a reference I gave him) and textured by me. It will be featured in my mod as an artifact of Azura. The wire-frame shot was included in case anyone wanted to see what the textures added to the model. I'm still working on my own modeling skills so I can whip something like this out as quickly as Chainy did.
